What are micro-aggressions?
For my research, I wanted to focus on accessibility to this complex subject. The use of metaphor in this video is a great example of how to address micro aggressions.
This video used references from movies to show micro-aggressions for different groups. It reminded me of my original found footage intent.
My first thoughts when starting this project were that my experience was not valid and should be brushed off. I thought that I was over exaggerating and that negativity made me doubt myself. As I researched more about micro-aggressions and how they affect everyday life, I felt validated and also shocked to see my exact thoughts written down.

However, this validation is quickly challenged by users comments on YouTube videos. It reflects how maybe in the academic realm it is accepted, yet to the general public these micro-aggressions are overreactions.

The moment I found this term, everything clicked. All the emotions I had and experience I lived connected to this definition. I started to see myself as affected by racism, but also as a person who was implementing it, as well to my own culture.
